Route to Employment:
Trevor was originally employed in 1996 as a butcher in the Boning Hall for a period of two years before being transferred to the Slaughter Hall in 1998. Trevor worked as a slaughterman for two years before returning to the Boning Hall where he was promoted to the Charge Hand of the Leg Boning Room.
Trevor's career further progressed to Boning Hall Supervisor in 2007. He was responsible for maintaining the operations of the department at an agreed production rate, ensuring consistently good hygiene, safety, discipline and cost management.
In 2007-08, Trevor along with twenty three other employees successfully completed a NVQ Level 2 in Meat Processing. Trevor is also trained in Chemical Handling Awareness in conjunction with ECOLAB and is one of Dunbia (Ballmena's) First Aiders.
More recently Trevor has achieved a Level 2 Award in Team Leading through the ILM Leadership and Management course that is being rolled out throughout Dunbia.
In recent weeks Trevor's role has envolved to become more training orientated and Trevor hopes to obtain his Level 4 Award in Food Safety Management and the CIEH Professional Trainer Qualification in the near future.

Route to Employment:
Andrew's employment with Dunbia (Llanybydder) commenced just after leaving secondary school. Andrew was originally employed in the Red Offal department, before moving to the Casings department where he spent 7 years. After leaving the Casings department, Andrew widened his knowledge of the business and worked in the Lairage, Despatch and CPM Butchery, before progressing to become a Butcher in the Boning Hall.
Since joining the Boning Hall, Andrew has progressed to become a Butcher earning 90% of the piecework pool. Andrew has been a member of Dunbia (Llanybydder's) Site Improvement Team since 2008 as a representatvie for the Boning Hall Butchers. This enables Andrew to make valuable suggestions and improvements for others in his department and across the site. Andrew's future career goal is to further progress as a Butcher and earn 100% of the piecework pool. To enable him to develop his skills and knowledge in his role, Andrew is undertaking a NVQ Level 2 in Meat and Poultry Processing which he is due to complete in the new year.
